The Washington Wizards center is now the first openly gay athlete in the Big Four (NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL). "I didn't set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. Director Kahlil Joseph and producer Flying Lotus have paired yet again for the short film, Wildcat (the two previously worked together on a short for Until the Quiet Comes). The stunning, black-and-white portraiture chronicles the little-known black rodeo subculture in Grayson, Oklahoma and provides an insider's glance for viewers. To say Kahlil Joseph is doing important work would be putting it mildly.

One of the biggest movie franchises in history is about to get a makeover. With JJ Abrams signed on as director, The Week reports, "the story will be original" and "all signs point to Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher reprising the roles of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia for the sequel." After 365 days offline, tech journalist and editor Paul Miller returned to the Internet. In an essay for The Verge Miller writes: "I was wrong. One year ago I left the Internet. I thought it was making me unproductive. I thought it lacked meaning. I thought it was 'corrupting my soul.'" Miller expands on his year-long journey, saying he hoped to quit his job, move in with his parents, read books, write more, and "wallow in my spare time."
