Earlier this week, a 1.5 mile wide EF5 tornado ripped through Moore, OK, destroying everything in its path. The tornado remained on the ground for 40 horrifying minutes, and it touched down just 16 minutes after the first warning. We've seen photos of the devastation all week, but these Google satellite images show various locations of the Oklahoma City suburb on Apr. 29, then yesterday after the tornado struck.
The first set of images shows Plaza Towers Elementary School, where a number of children died; the second batch shows Moore Medical Center before and after. If you couldn't already feel the magnitude of the tornado's impact, one glance at these photos will make it explicitly clear.
