As previously reportedRicky Gervais' totally not-politically-correct-but-still-hilarious British series Derek is coming to Netflix soon after premiering on UK's Channel 4 earlier this year, and now we finally have a release date for it: September 12th. Mark your smart-phone calendars! Plus, even better news - at only seven episodes, the show will only take about three and a half hours to watch, so you don't have to worry about giving up your entire day like we're going to all have to do when Arrested Development hits Netflix this Sunday.

If you're not familiar, Derek stars Gervais as a nursing home employee who is described as "slow-but-sweet," to the point where some advocates for the disabled accused Gervais of "mocking" those with disabilities. Gervais has fired back at the criticisms, saying, "He's not the smartest tool in the box but he's cleverer than Father Dougal, and not as different as Mr. Bean. He's based on those people you meet who are on the margins of society. Nerds, loners, under achievers." So, there you go.
