Vine, the six-second video app owned by Twitter, has become incredibly popular among teenagers. John Herrman at BuzzFeed conducted a small study via Vinepeek, a site that posts Vines in real time, and found that the majority of users were teens.
"In our (admittedly small) sample, teens accounted for over 80% of Vines," Herrman wrote. "Some factors may have skewed our number: time of day (about 4:30 p.m. EST); day of the week (Wednesday); or some hidden quirk in Vinepeek's mechanics. But this is most definitely a huge shift from the early days of Vine."
The app debuted in January and is also well-liked among rappers and actors.
