Eighty-six bids were placed in a Charitybuzz auction to meet and have lunch with Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple. Yeah, that might not have the same ring to it as, say, Steve Jobs would, but Tim Cook is the head of a very powerful company. So why not throw in some spare change to have a bite with the man? Oh, because winning that auction cost just as much as buying a house. The winner paid a whopping $610,000 to have 30 to 60 minutes (that's it!) with Tim Cook at the Cupertino offices. At least proceeds will be going to the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights.
Congratulations to the person who bid $600,000: the universe just threw you a lifeline.
