Whether you think it's great or overrated garbage, Rise of the Eternals, the spiritual successor to Gamecube cult classic Eternal Darkness, is launching a crowd-funding campaign this Monday with a id="mce_marker".5 million goal.

Though it doesn't look like Silicon Knights is officially involved with the episodic release coming to Wii U and PC (so far), Eternal Darkness director Denis Dyack is serving as chief creative officer at new developer Precursor Games.

Looks like if the game hits its funding goal, it'll be another generation-jumping storyline, this time with graphics that are a hell of a lot more convincing than the Gamecube's. Keep glued to Complex to find out more, but in the meantime here's a trailer.
