Evan Peters to Portray Quicksilver in "X-Men: Days of Future Past"

Will we see lots of father/son bonding moments between him and Michael Fassbender, then?

Big news for X-Men: Days of Future PastAccording to Vulture, not only has the character Quicksilver been added to the film, but American Horror Story star Evan Peters has been cast in the role. Congratulations, Magneto (Michael Fassbender) - you have a son!

There have previously been rumors that Quicksilver and his twin sister, Scarlet Witch, would be appearing in The Avengers 2, but it looks like director Bryan Singer beat them to the punch. Since the characters were first and foremost Magneto's kids before they went on to join the Avengers, though, it's still plausible that they'll show up in Joss Whedon's upcoming Avengers sequel.

The news of Peters' casting was announced by Singer himself on his Twitter last night:

So, since Quicksilver is Magneto's kid and all, should we expect lots of bonding scenes between Peters and Fassbender? Like, playing catch, and going out for ice cream, and awkward sex talks? We can only hope.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is currently filming in Montreal, Canada.
