Welcome Billy Crystal back to television, everybody. Vulture is reporting that the actor has signed on to appear in FX's version of the Swedish series The Comedians, which is about an older, veteran comedian who is paired with an "edgier," younger comedian to co-host a new late night series. Crystal will, of course, play the older comedian - his younger co-star has not yet been cast.
Even better: Borat director Larry Charles is reportedly on board to direct the pilot, and serve as writer and executive producer for the series. Someone get Sacha Baron Cohen in on this to play the younger comedian, stat.
The pilot should begin shooting this summer.
