The Amanda Bynes saga took another surprising turn last night - according to NBC New York, the actress was arrested late Thursday for allegedly smoking marijuana in the lobby of her midtown Manhattan apartment building, and then proceeding to throw a bong out of her 36th floor window when police arrived.

Police were reportedly called to Bynes' W. 47th St. building last night by the doorman, who claimed that the actress was smoking marijuana in the lobby. When they arrives, Bynes was already back in her apartment, but there were still a few pieces of damning evidence against her: Police said her room "reeked" of marijuana, and Bynes allegedly tossed a bong out of her window when she opened the door to officers.

Bynes was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and criminal possession of marijuana. Before being booked, she was taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation - she's expected to have spent the night in Manhattan central booking after.

OK, really, this is getting scary, and quite frankly, we're worried about her now. Can someone go check on Amanda Bynes?

UPDATE: According to reports, Bynes appeared before a judge today in NYC, and claimed that the alleged bong she threw out the window of her apartment was actually a vase. The judge agreed to let her go without bail, on the condition that she show up for her court date in July - otherwise, an arrest warrant would be issued.
