5 Lessons Learned on Last Night's "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" (Season 2, Episode 3)

As one of seven people who actually enjoyed Karlie Redd’s “Louis, Prada, Gucci,” (shut up) I’m a wee bit disappointed to see Karlie’s first studio-centered scene consisting of her imitating Nicki Minaj while recording a K. Michelle diss record that’s a whole year too late anyway.

Karlie, there are far too many out of work and relevance-starved artists in the ATL for you to be wasting time trying to read a person who could snatch you bald with a single snarky sentence. You better grab yourself a lost member of 112 and some trap rapper and create yourself a regional hit.

Raise your hand if you believed Mimi when she claimed that didn’t anticipate two people who hated each other to be so hostile towards each other when in the same room? Good, now drop that hand right at the top of your head. Rasheeda may have dismissed K. Michelle as nothing more than “Keyshia Coleslaw,” but the Memphis-born singer won the verbal battle when she said in response, "My name Ra-sheeeeda, I rap like Shawty Lo."

It’s funny ‘cause it’s true.

Although K. Michelle is funny and provides much comic relief, we’re going to have to disagree with her Twitter rant about her making the show. Funny as you are, K, Joseline Hernandez makes this show worthwhile. See Joseline’s summation of Karlie Redd’s life: “I know she likes to gossip with her old ass.”

Likewise, this is Joseline’s response to Karlie Redd’s claim that Benzino told her that he bedded the Puerto Rican Princess: “Why would I smash someone that ain’t got no neck? I need a neck.”

 Joseline is Beyoncé, K. Michelle is Kelly Rowland—but that’s okay, because Kelly Rowland is cool now. 

I love Momma Dee the way I love any charming pimp, but she acts as if life is exactly like The Lion King and she's Mufasa. She’s the queen of her castle, the king of the jungle, and the Boss Bitch of Candyland. Is someone going to pull her to the side to say, “Your apartment looks lovely and spacious and well-priced, but it’s not a palace?” Maybe she favors Sho’Nuff from The Last Dragon, but always remember that Bruce Leeroy won the fight. Don’t stab me, Momma Dee. I truly do adore thee.

Lil’ Scrappy meant well when he proposed a meeting of the minds at the mamas. Fa Shiz-Na-ee. Unfortunately, Erica had way too much pent up frustration to share chicken with Momma Dee in peace. Let that be a lesson to us all: Don’t invite anyone to dinner if, in the back of your mind, you worry you might lose your cool and crack a plate over that person’s skull. Ya feel me?
