There are two phases of childhood: the first is bugging your parents for a cell phone and the second is bugging your parents for a better cell phone. All of us remember that beautiful day when we were liberated from our land line and provided with our own cellphone. Granted, for many of us, the cell phone was quickly lost or confiscated as punishment, but for those sweet months before you ran over your phone in the school parking lot, you felt your first true taste of independence.
