1 World Trade Center's Spire Makes it NYC's Tallest Building

Pride is on 100 today.

None

Earlier today, 1 World Trade Center's spire was added to the building, officially making it the tallest in New York City and the rest of the country. The 408-foot finishing touch was raised from the ground last week commemorating the two-year anniversary of Osama bin Laden's death, but nasty weather delayed the installation.

The spire brings 1 WTC's height 1,776 feet, but some building experts dismiss it as an antenna, meaning it's actually shorter than that. Many would argue that those experts are haters. Anyway, the building will open next year and will host tenants such as Conde Nast and the federal General Services Administration.
