Two weeks ago LG announced that they were in the works to launch a curved OLED TV later in the year. Much to everyone’s surprise, the product is already available for pre-order in South Korea. This TV will be the first of its kind.
LG calls the 55EA9800, which is the actual name of the product, an IMAX experience in the home. And at 55-inches wide, we would expect nothing less. The curved shape of the television ensures that the entire surface of the screen will be equidistant from the viewer’s eyes. The TV is 0.17 inches thin, weighs approximately 37.48 pounds and features LG’s WRGB and Color Refiner technologies.
The TV is selling for 15 million KRW in South Korea, roughly $13,500 US dollars. No word yet on when it will be available in the US.
