Over the weekend, startling surveillance footage of a man and woman being abducted in Manhattan emerged. Now, it appears as though the whole ordeal was simply a joke. According to NYPD Spokesman Paul Browne, police are beginning to think the incident was "a hoax staged among friends to celebrate one of their birthdays."
The New York Post reports that "After finding a least one person linked to the 'kidnapping' — which was caught on video — police believe the incident was just a group of men playing a trick for a friend’s birthday." There was no missing persons report filed.
Apparently, the police have seen Jawbreaker. Sometimes, friends kidnap friends on their birthdays. As long as nobody gets hurt, it's all love.
