Yesterday evening, traffic was backed up on the Manhattan side of the Queensboro Bridge after a truck exploded into flames. The FDNY called the blaze a "standard engine block fire," but the truck was transporting oxygen tanks, one of which exploded as a result of the heat. The FDNY was able to control the situation in about an hour and no one was injured.
