Rumor: Steve Jobs Helped Develop the Next Two iPhones

An Apple exec spilled the beans.

The next two iPhone models might have something in common.

According to San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón, who met with Apple's Government Liason, Michael Foulkes, last week to discuss iPhone-related robberies in the city, Foulkes hinted the next two generations of the device were developed under the late Steve Jobs.

Gascón described the hour-long talk in which Foulkes "did most of the talking" as "underwhelming," but he recalls Foulkes saying the phones "preceded Tim Cook" and include a kill-switch technology to help counter robberies.

The phones in question, says Mark Gurman who helped break the story, might include the iPhone 5S and its cheaper iteration, which are expected to launch this year.
