The Central Terminal of LaGuardia Airport was briefly evacuated this morning after a "suspicious package" was spotted near the shopping area. According to ABC7, "an electrical device was found at a phone booth on the upper level departure of Terminal B, known as central terminal...Next to the bag is a substance that looks like marijuana." A source also told ABC7 that there were wires protruding from the bag.
The crisis was managed within 15 minutes and business resumed as usual. Port Authority tells Gothamist the package in question was part of a light fixture that fell inside of the terminal.
