Around 3:25 a.m. this morning, a transit worker was fatally struck by a train after falling onto subway tracks in Queens. According to the New York Post, witnesses saw the 58-year-old man fall off of the 46th Street station platform where he was struck by an E train headed to Manhattan. NBC New York says the man was part of a crew that was completing work on the tracks.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Though trains were delayed immediately following the incident as authorities investigated the scene, they have returned to normal. The victim's name will not be released until his family is notified.
