Because everyone wants to be a hero and coat their food with the hottest of hot sauces, the hot sauce game has become one of the country's ten fastest growing industries. This weekend, Brooklyn will host the first annual New York City Hot Sauce Expo, which will offer heat from the very best hot sauce companies in the country.

The event will also feature food vendors, fire breathers, eating competitions, an awards show, live music and adult beverages to calm (or inflame) your taste buds. Our resident beer aficionado Jimmy Carbone of Jimmy's No. 43 is also involved, as his company Food Karma Projects is one of the many sponsors.

The fun goes down Apr. 20 and 21 at Brooklyn's East River State Park (110 Kent Ave.) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. General admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased here. Don't miss out on the very best the country has to offer in terms of hot sauce.
