Always one to make good decisions, NBC is reportedly planning on producing a spinoff of their hit singing competition The Voice, which would feature kid contestants. Yes - American Idol tried this before in 2003 with a show called American Juniors, but that only lasted a season because it's a horrible, horrible idea. NBC: Always a winner.
According to the New York Post, The Voice Kids is already a hit in Germany (are their television sets just stuck on that channel or something? They should get that checked out), and the plans are to film the series concurrently with the next cycle of The Voice at the end of this year.
