The man who shot himself in the head after crashing his car into the 81st Precinct station in Brooklyn has passed away. 32-year-old Anthony Alexander, whose brother is a police officer, drove straight into the station then placed a 9mm handgun below his chin and fired. He was rushed to Kings County Hospital and underwent successful surgery, but died around 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

Alexander, who did a six-year stint in prison for robbery, was arrested back on Mar. 16 for assaulting his 27-year-old girlfriend. Keisha Darnley requested an order of protection from police, which Alexander violated on Friday morning, triggering the tragic series of events.

He crashed into the station just as police were speaking to Darnley about his visit to her home.
