Upon first glance, working on a project for the Syfy network seems like a strange career decision to follow up starring in an Academy Award-winning Quentin Tarantino film, but this actually sounds like it could be great. According to Deadline, Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx is set to create a five-episode horror anthology series for Syfy, which will debut in October during the network's 31 Days of Halloween programming marathon.
The scripted series is hailing from Foxx and his production company, Foxxhole productions. It will reportedly be in the vein of The Twilight Zone and Tales From the Crypt, and will focus on telling "creepy morality tales" surrounding themes like envy, jealousy, and superficiality. Foxx will be writing, directing, and executive producing all five episodes, and he may even appear in them - but this isn't confirmed yet.
"This is a project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m so happy to see it come to life," Foxx said of the project, which was officially announced at the network's upfront presentation last night. "Get ready to lose it when some special friends and I bring the scares this October, and who knows...maybe I’ll make a guest appearance or two along the way!"
