The day has come when "Harlem Shake," the viral dance craze that swept America and even China, hit 1 billion views on YouTube.

The milestone occurred after just 40 days, half the time it took Psy's "Gangnam Style," and almost a sixth of the time it Carly Rae Jepsen's summer jam, "Call Me Maybe."

Of course, there was never just one "Harlem Shake," so when tallying up the views, "Visible Measures looked at 500 iterations of the dance video and aggregated them to get to 1 billion," wrote Mashable. "While many of the videos have 'just a few million views,' the top 10 versions got a total of 336 million views, according to the researcher."

Unfortunately, "Harlem Shake" won't surpass "Gangnam Style" in views, especially since the popularity of its videos peaked around Feb. 26. Still, the videos drew around 75 million views, which by our count isn't something to sniff at.
