Denis Leary is going from firefighter to football coach. According to Deadline, the comedian and Rescue Me star has signed on to the Kevin Costner- Jennifer Garner-starring pic Draft Day, in which he will portray the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns, named Vince Penn. Of course, things won't be easy for Penn his new role: He ends up clashing with the team's GM (Costner), who is trying to make the right picks to take the franchise through the NFL draft.
The casting was especially last minute, as part of the film is set to be shot at the April 25th draft at Radio City Music Hall. Apparently, the team involved in the pic was originally set to be the Buffalo Bills, but the film's studio, Lionsgate, received better incentives in Ohio so the Cleveland Browns were used instead.
