If you were born in the 1980s, there's a good chance you learned a life lesson or two from The Brave Little Toaster. The movie centers on a group of talking household appliances who set out on a journey to find their original owner. Along the way they encounter to the cold real world, complete with malicious humans and a terrifying junkyard. Similar to the Toy Story franchise, this movie is about friendship and letting go as we grow older.
The cutesy demeanor of the movie hides the deeper meaning behind the film, which works well to provide entertainment for both children and adults. Though it was based on a popular book, Disney proved that it can make any well-worn genre or theme feel new again with The Brave Little Toaster. —JS
