News broke yesterday of a 6-year-old boy who was accidentally shot in the head by his four-year-old neighbor as the two played in Toms River, NJ. Sadly, Brandon Holt succumbed to injuries sustained during the shooting. Holt and his neighbor were playing in the younger boy's backyard before finding a .22-caliber rifle under his parent's bed.

The weapon discharged, striking Holt in the head and leaving a bullet inside of his brain. The other child's parents were nearby, and Holt was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center yesterday evening where he later passed away.

Angry neighbors like Diane Mlenak reported seeing several guns being removed from the home by police. "I counted each one and there were 11 of them. They were big guns and one had a giant scope. Why did he have these guns? Why isn’t he arrested?"

Local authorities are probing into whether or not the younger boy's parents were permitted to own the rifle. Charges have yet to be filed, but the investigation continues.
