What Five Minutes Were Like: It's definitely about sex—there was just a fully erect penis on screen a minute ago, which may be a first for am R-rated movie—but there's not a lot of Vaseline-smeared lenses or accidentally dropped towels in this one. Thanks, Catherine Breillat-you've made sex nasty and real. (Just like you do in all of your movies, admittedly; but for the purposes of a late-night Netflix wank, you aren't making the cut.) Like most French movies that have the words "comedy" or "laughter" in the title, this is a tense, dark film with rigid sex scenes that have little to do with pleasure.
