A Veronica Mars film has been in discussions since the show was unceremoniously axed by The CW back in 2007, but lack of interest from Warner Bros. and a lack of funding made the endeavor pretty impossible - until now. Star Kristen Bell, who has tirelessly campaigned to get the project going, along with creator Rob Thomas, have created Kickstarter page to raise money to produce a film based on cult show.

They're looking to raise $2,000,000 to fund the project, and are offering pretty cool rewards to those who donate various amounts. Just a few as example: $10 gets you a PDF of the shooting script on the days release, $35 gets you a shooting script, a T-shirt, a digital version of the movie when it's released, and periodic updates during the production process, $600 gets you a personalized voicemail from Bell, and $10,000 gets you a speaking role in the film as a waiter. But the best reward remains: We'll finally get a Veronica Mars movie before everyone is so old that it has to be set in a nursing home.

According to Thomas, Warner Bros. still owns the rights to the series, but they're willing to cooperate should this campaign garner enough interest. He writes:

None

And as for what the plot could include, Thomas writes that much of it depends on how much is raised for the budget:

None

Additionally, some of the cast - including Bell, Ryan Hansen, Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni, and Thomas - came together to make a hilarious promotional video for the page, which you can check out above, or at the project's Kickstarter page here.
