After throwing back a few beers with coworkers, it's often hard to know if you're really okay to drive. The Breathometer is an innovative device that will help you and your loved ones get home safely after a night out.

The lightweight and cordless breathalyzer snaps into your smartphone's audio jack. Launch the accompanying app and simply breathe into the contraption to see your blood-alcohol concentration level. If it's above the legal limit of .08% BAC (blood alcohol content) for you or anyone else, be sure to call a taxi.

The makers of the Breathometer -- compatible with iPhone and Android phones -- believe the smartphone add-on will help decreased the thousands of drunk-driving deaths that occur in the U.S. every year. The plug-in has already raised $66,000 of its initial $25,000 goal on Indiegogo. You can still reserve a keychain-friendly Breathometer on the crowdfunding platform.
