A trend in the making?

Google Glass won't be widely available until later this year, but some establishments are already shutting it out.

Citing Geekwire, CNET reports that a self-described dive bar in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood, The 5 Point, has banned the headset from its premises.

"For the record, The 5 Point is the first Seattle business to ban in advance Google Glasses," reads the notice on their Facebook page. "And ass kickings will be encouraged for violators."

Though the owner, Dave Meinert, admitted the post was little more than "a Facebook joke" and a marketing stunt, he did point out most of his patrons don't want to be caught on camera.

"We don't let people film other people or take photos unwanted of people in the bar," he said, "because it is kind of a private place that people go."
