We'd brood a lot too if we were robbing a bank in an effort to provide for a woman we had a one night stand with and a baby we didn't know we had, so we can't really blame Ryan Gosling for looking so broody and intense in these new The Place Beyond the Pines promo/behind-the-scenes pictures.
Featuring Gosling, along with stars Ben Mendelsohn, Bradley Cooper, Mahershala Ali, and director Derek Cianfrance, the photos don't really give too much away in terms of plot - they're just good stills and behnd-the-scenes shots from production of the film. If you're not privy yet, the film follows Gosling's character Luke, a motorcycle stunt rider, who is approached by a woman he had a one night stand with (Gosling's real-life girlfriend Eva Mendes) and told that the two of them have a child together now. Desperate to provide for them both, Gosling's character resolves to rob banks with the help of Robin (Ben Mendelsohn). Then, something happens that links Luke to a rookie police officer named Avery (Bradley Cooper). Mysterious!
