Above the law? Not quite.

Louisiana State Police Sgt. Ronald Thomas has been arrested for allegedly selling "large amounts" of cocaine and tampering with evidence on some Alonzo Harris, Training Day shit. The 42-year-old Thomas is in custody on charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, distribution of cocaine, payroll fraud, obstruction of justice and malfeasance in office.

After following a lead from another investigation, state police determined that Thomas was involved in illegal activity. During a search of his Monroe, LA home, they found a stolen weapon and $50,000 in cash. 38-year-old Leonard Dunn was also arrested and charged with distribution marijuana and hydrocodone. Authorities say he collaborated with Thomas to sell “large quantities” throughout the state, and was ordered by Thomas to destroy evidence once he learned of the investigation.

Col. Mike Edmonson says Sgt. Thomas "dishonored his oath," and added that local law enforcement will "push for the strongest possible punishment.” Thomas, who has been suspended while an investigation is conducted, faces up to 92 years in prison and a $76,000 fine.
