Here Is the First Trailer For "Before Midnight"

Jesse and Celine are old marrieds!

Whereas both Before Sunrise and Before Sunset presented Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) in various stages of meeting - for the first time, and once again after nine years had passed, respectively - this third installment in the film series, Before Midnight, presents the couple in a very different light: Married, with two young twin daughters. It's nine years after the conclusion of Before Sunset, and, during a vacation in Greece, it seems that our two star-crossed lovers have fallen into a bit of a rut in their marriage. Jesse isn't the romantic he used to be, and Celine wonders if he he'd still fall in love with her if he was meeting her for the first time in the present day - she even utters a sentence that seems more out of Delpy's 2 Days in Paris than of this film: "This is how couples start to break up."

In a way, the film still reflects the overall themes of the first two films, which is of two people getting to know each other - only in Before Midnight, the two people have been together for years, which brings and extremely interesting and new dynamic to the characters' relationship.

Before Midnight is set to hit theaters in NYC and LA on May 24th. You can check out the trailer above.
