Google launched a note-taking service to rival Evernote this week called Keep.

Much in the way Evernote lets you store random bits of information to use as reminders, Google Keep can "quickly jot down ideas" and "include checklists and photos," the search giant explained on its blog. You can also transcribe memos by voice automatically.

Other cool features: You can use it on your Android or tablet, and install a widget to access notes without having to unlock your screen.
