Who would've thought that tacos would be responsible for economic growth? Not only are Taco Bell's Doritos Locos Tacos immensely popular, they also created some 15,000 new jobs last year. That's what happens when you push 375 million tacos, which is a little more than a million a day for a year.

Taco Bell CEO Greg Creed told The Daily Beast that the tacos have been "the biggest launch in Taco Bell history," adding that they had to bring on 15,000 employees in 2012 to handle the growth." Thanks to the recent release of the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos and the affinity of potheads everywhere, Taco Bell anticipates further growth.

“We believe we can add 2,000 new restaurants in the next 10 years, because what we have is proprietary and exclusive. Nobody else can make a Cool Ranch Doritos taco. And that’s just in the U.S.,” Creed continued. We're on the verge of a Byzantine Empire of tacos that's creating jobs, one shell at a time.
