Facebook is expected to announce a reimagined newsfeed on Thursday, reports The New York Times

The feed, which is the first thing users see upon logging into the network, will become front and center in an effort to keep them around and drum up ad dollars. Among the changes, users can expect "bigger photos, more videos and 'more engaging ads,'" as the company's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, explained in an earnings call back in January.

“Advertisers want really rich things like big pictures or videos, and we haven’t provided those things historically,” he said at the time.

Other changes might include a more music-oriented News Feed in which upcoming concerts and tours are displayed, along with updates of what friends have been streaming on Spotify and Rdio, said TechCrunch
