Since the news of Google Reader’s end broke, users have been searching for a similar way to get their daily news fix. Luckily, Feedly, a potential replacement, has promised to make the switch as seamless as possible.

In a matter of 48 hours, over 500,000 Reader users migrated to Feedly. To keep up with their sudden success, Feedly has expanded its bandwidth significantly, added new servers, and set up a suggestion forum for new features.

“More than 500,000 Google Reader users have joined the Feedly community over the last 48 hours. We love passionate readers. Welcome on board," a Feedly rep wrote on the company blog.

Google Reader has set its last day as July 1, but if Feedly keeps gaining users at this rate, the end might arrive sooner than later.
