Tom Hardy Will Actually Show His Face in Next Movie

Also: his real voice.

Tom Hardy's new movie Locke finally got financing this morning and will start production in a few weeks. He was hella creepy as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises (although the character doesn't hold a candle to the Joker) but there was one problem: Bane's breathing mask covers Hardy's face for the entire movie except for a brief flashback. And by brief we mean about two seconds.

Luckily, there is no sign of face masks in Locke, a real-time thriller written and directed by Steven Knight, who wrote the screenplay for Eastern Promises. Hardy will play Ivan Locke, a man who has everything but has to race against time after "one phone call will force him to make a decision to put it all on the line."

Cult classic Clue and German thriller Run Lola Run were both real-time—meaning two hours of screen time equals two hours of time in the film—so Locke could be exciting. But so was the Jason Statham vehicle Crank. We'd hate to see Hardy go that route after nuanced turns in Tinker Tailor Solider Spy and Inception. At least he'll be using his British accent.
