"The Walking Dead" Broke Cable Ratings Records Last Night

Again!

None

If you tuned into the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead last night on AMC, looks like it was you and everyone else ever: According to Vulture, last night's episode of the zombie-themed series broke ratings records for the network and cable television itself, pulling in a whopping 12.3 million viewers during its initial 9 PM airing.

These numbers - in addition to the fact that 7.7 million of them were under 50, advertiser's most coveted demo - make the episode the most-watched in basic cable history, as well as the number one series on cable and broadcast for the under 50 demo that week (slightly under The Big Bang Theory).

Shattering ratings records just like they're shattering zombie skulls - quite poetic, really.
