A young, working-class girl in Sweden wins a camera (a very large, stationary operation at the time) in a lottery and rather than sell it for quick cash, she keeps it. Her art helps her through decades of hard times raising children amid war and an alcoholic husband.

Everlasting Moments was Sweden's submission for Best Foreign Film for the 2008 Academy Awards.
