Consumer electronics giant Sony seems to be planning to manufacture an innovative pillow that can measure a person's brain wave signals while he or she sleeps. When the person wakes up, a full slumber report through various sleep cycles will be ready.
The pillow will also "awaken the user when a preset amount of time elapses," according to an online patent application for the "sleep aid device and method, program and recording medium." Heavy sleepers should look forward to the wake-up aid. Try pressing the snooze button and falling back to sleep as the pillow incessantly vibrates.
The sleep accessory described in the text can also be preset to wake users up during a light sleep cycle rather than when someone is in deep sleep promoting feeling refreshed in the morning.
