Samsung's Wallet App Bears a Striking Resemblance to Apple's Passbook

The sincerest form of flattery?

Samsung was clearly so taken by Apple's Passbook that the company decided to model a lot of the new Wallet features after it.

That's according to The Verge who reports Samsung unveiled Wallet during Mobile World Congress on Wednesday, and designed the app "to let users store things such as event tickets, boarding passes, membership cards, and coupons in one central location." But the app, which is currently only available as a preview for designers, clearly ripped more than a few pages out of Passbook.

First, the company's lined up some stellar partnerships with the likes of Expedia, Hotels.com and Walgreens. The app also offers time and location-based notifications (just like Passbook) to tell users when passes are ready to be used, and update them as membership points and boarding passes are changed.

The app is due in the near future, though The Verge expects it will be a part of its launch for the new Galaxy S IV on March 14.
