The mobile world's mobile-photo darling, Instagram, will not be added to BlackBerry 10's list of native applications, according to a report from AllThingsD, who cite sources close to the Facebook-owned company.
AllThingsD reports Instagram is, however, developing a port of the Android app, which will let BB10 users download and use the photo-sharing app. The decision to disallow the brand-new platform from carrying the app is wholly between Facebook and BlackBerry, the report states.
BlackBerry 10, the company's latest user interface, which merges home screens, widgets, app lists, launched at the end of January. The lack of Instagram will surely sway savvy mobile shoppers away from BB devices. Each month, early 90 million people (and celebrities) use snap and share photos using the Apple iOS and Android apps.
