One of the most intriguing television projects set to debut this year is A&E’s Bates Motel. Based in part on Alfred Hitchcock’s legendary horror film Psycho, this series will take a look at the life of Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and his mother (Vera Farmia) before the events of the movie. And though the series won’t slavishly follow the world of the film (the setting is in the modern day), it will still have that same creepy mother/son dynamic going for it.

Now the network has debuted a new, brief teaser trailer for the show, as well as a creeptastic poster. Both the poster and the teaser are extremely understated, but the look on Norman's face alone is enough to give us the chills. Take a look at the trailer above and the poster below.
Bates Motel will debut on A&E on March 18.
