The LAPD has agreed to provide a new vehicle for the women it opened fire on after mistaking them for cop killer Christopher Dorner.

On Thursday morning, 47-year-old Margie Carranza and her mother, 71-year-old Emma Hernandez, were delivering papers in Torrance, CA when police shot their truck several times. Carranza suffered only minor injuries due to broken glass, but Hernandez was struck twice in the back.

According to Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, the accidental shooting was “a tragic misinterpretation” of the department.
