James Gandolfini Won't Be Returning to HBO After All

Womp-womp.

None

Looks like a pilot order and commitment from former Sopranos star James Gandolfini wasn't enough to get Criminal Justice off the ground at HBO. According to Deadline, the network has passed on the drama series, which was meant to star Gandolfini and was written by Oscar-nominated writer Richard Price. Loosely based on the 2008 BBC series of the same name, it was meant to chronicle "the journey of a person charged with murder through the justice system, and each featuring new characters and cast."

Sad, but we prefer to look at it this way: It's all the more reason to just comission a Sopranos reunion instead!
