A Florida man was betrayed by his best friend this past weekend. 35-year-old Gregory Dale Lanier was shot once in the leg by his dog while enjoying a Sunday drive in Highlands County. Lanier told authorities that he didn't realize his .380 pistol was loaded until he caught one in the leg.
The dog apparently kicked the gun, causing it to discharge and leaving Lanier with a bullet in his leg. According to Sebring Police Commander Steve Carr "Lanier said he heard boom, saw smoke and felt a burning in his leg." Accidents happen, and sometimes friends shoot friends.
