"Boardwalk Empire" Snags Its Newest Gangster

Ok, "businessman."

Ron Livingston is joining the season 4 cast of the HBO hit Boardwalk Empire. Boardwalk has a nasty habit of killing off characters, so of course they need fresh blood. Er, talent.

Livingston will play Roy Phillips, "a wealthy out-of-town businessman who catches the eye of Gillian Darmody," the incestuous former single mother played by Gretchen Mol.

You probably know Livingston from his iconic role as Peter in Office Space, but he's an old hand at HBO after starring in Band of Brothers and Sex and the City (he's the guy who breaks up with Carrie on a Post-It note), and most recently, their Emmy Award-winning Game Change.

His old Office Space coworker (savior) Stephen Root also stars on the Prohibition drama—if there's a reunion, it probably won't involve a stapler.

Boardwalk Empire is currently filming season 4 and will premiere this fall.
