Despite its majorly cliffhanger-y ending last year, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that BBC has canceled their award-winning, critically-acclaimed drama The Hour after two seasons. This news comes after the network picked up three new shows and renewed a few others, including Ripper Street and Call the Midwife.

"We loved the show but have to make hard choices to bring new shows through," BBC said in a statement of the 1950's period drama, which earned nominations for numerous awards during its run, including four BAFTAs, two Golden Globes, and an Emmy.

As can be expected, Twitter is freaking out.
