The last we heard of the white PS3, it was finally leaving Japan, but for some reason skipping over the U.S. Thankfully, that won't be the case any longer, as Sony has announced that a white PS3 bundle with a full year of PlayStation Plus will hit these shores on Jan. 27.

The sexy slim white PS3 comes with a huge 500GB hard drive, which Sony reports can hold 3,750 games. We're not sure where they got their number, but even if they're playing it up a bit no doubt 500GB should be enough for even the most dedicated digital gamer.

That year of PS Plus doesn't hurt either - all those free games, and the subscription itself is a $49.99 value.

It's just too bad the PS3 slim doesn't include PlayStation 2 backwards compatibility, or else we might have considered upgrading.
